ETHICS OF AUTOCAD
An ethical point when using AutoCAD is Intellectual property, where protecting your ideas is difficult when you must share your drawings, and other data with customers and contractors, but we need input about design questions. Nevertheless as stated in the ACM code of ethics, "Computing professionals are obligated to protect the integrity of intellectual property. Specifically, one must not take credit for other's ideas or work, even in cases where the work has not been explicitly protected by copyright, patent, etc."[1], which helps give credit where credit is due. “It's easy to get jaded about such breakthroughs” [2], but what would we do if by some unexplainable incident we no longer can use computers? Since computers have become part of mainstream society, humans communicate mainly through technology rather than face to face to save time and money; where I believe it has resulted in becoming lazy, money hungry, and furthermore less and less morally humane. The ethics of our computer related professions go out the window because individuals may never see the people from whom they are stealing the intellectual property face to face, this is why people steal using computers more than people steal physically from other people.
