Economic and Political Milieu

On one hand, computer-aided design is morally neutral in that it does not obviously push a political or economic agenda. It is not a engine of change nor a guarantor of stasis.

On the other hand, it is a function of modern society, and where it echoes the fast pace demanded by global capitalism [14], as opposed to resisting it in favour of a slower thoughtful craftmanship, it is a qualified moral evil: qualified because most of what is used in the 21st century echoes capitalism's need for increased speed and reduced expense - CAD is not unique in this regard.
