FUNCTION

We should first understand the command before we look at the ethical ramifications. The copy command defined by Cadtutors a free on-line AutoCAD help site. "The Copy command can be used to create one or more duplicates of any drawing object or objects which you have previously created. Copy is a very useful and time-saving command because you can create very complex drawing elements and then simply copy them as many times as you like.”[2]

The steps involved are:
-Select object to copy
-click on copy icon or type copy in command line, then hit enter
-Select between
-Specify base point (click where you want to grab the copy from)
-Displacement (the distance from that point to place copy)
-Multiple (if you want multiple copies)
-Specify second point of displacement.
-now you have 2, the original and the copy

The very function of the command has no ethical connection. The program merely looks for a series of inputs to perform the copy command. If all the inputs have been entered correctly them the command is carried out.
